Covering the Cape, Harwich, 2010

We had a very limited look at Harwich this season, but here’s what the notes say.

Brian Goodwin, OF (North Carolina)

Left-handed hitter who has potential to become a very good player. Smooth swing, firm front, good hands, nice extension, confident in hands.

Austin Nola, SS (LSU)

Gone by the time I got in, but saw him a few weeks before. Average tools across the board, solid ballplayer.

Levi Michael, 2B (North Carolina)

Second look at him in as many years on the Cape. Puts the ball in play, solid to slightly above-average runner, plus defender, soft hands and good actions, smart grinder.

Mikie Mahtook, OF (LSU)

Did not see him in summer, saw in late Spring. Big body, a lot of hoopla. Has some raw power and an aggressive swing, probably a decent draft, didn’t see enough power production potential to make him stand out in long haul. We’ll see what happens, others have seen him more than I have.

Adam Morgan, LHP (Alabama)

Liked him in a very limited look, reminded me of former Alabama LHP Wade LeBlanc. Command oriented guy who repeats his mechanics and pitches to contact, fearless and not afraid to challange guys with stuff. Pro lefties of that ilk have that mentality.

Tyler Pill, OF-P (Cal State Fullerton)

Saw him pitch in spring and hit in summer.
